Legislative Agenda for 2010
IACEC supports the Governor Culver’s Budget recommendations which requests to level funding in FY11 for Iowa State University and Iowa State University Extension. IACEC is also supportive of the Governor Culver’s Budget recommendation for an additional $10.8 million supplemental appropriation in FY10 for Iowa State University. However, in the FY10 supplemental appropriation no funding would be restored to any non-General University state appropriations, including the line item Cooperative Extension. (Several other non-General University line items, including for the Experiment Station, Veterinary Diagnostic Lab and for ISU’s economic development programs, also are left out.) Therefore, IACEC supports the restoration of the ISU-Cooperative Extension mid-year cuts under the Board of Regents FY10 supplemental appropriation.
